Immich 3.0 lands: breaking API changes, drops pgvecto.rs, adds Workflows and mobile editing

After months of development, the self-hosted photo platform Immich has shipped its major v3.0.0 release, its first to use a release-candidate process before the final build.

Key points

• Breaking changes are mostly in API endpoints and affect third-party integrations; for most users, updating works as usual (set IMMICH_VERSION to v3, then docker compose pull && up -d).
• Drops pgvecto.rs in favor of VectorChord — anyone on a build older than 1.133.0 who hasn't migrated must follow the upgrade guide.
• Workflows (preview): drag-and-drop automation chaining triggers, filters and actions for your library.
• Non-destructive mobile photo editing, a 'Recently added' page, integrity checks, and a mobile slideshow.
• HLS and real-time video transcoding (preview): on-the-fly transcoding without pre-generating files.
